Acanthus plate rack

Rack of shelves and carved Norwegian baroque acanthus ornament in pine

For my final project of the school term, I tackled a large plate rack with a baroque acanthus ornament. This was a copy of an existing rack, so I was striving for accuracy as well as artistry. I finished the ornament with a pigmented oil technique called lasuring.
I decided to make a timelapse video as part of the project, so you can see the carving process
from roughly sawn-out blank to finished ornament.
